Super fast weight loss methods, to justify the name, should help you lose weight at a super fast pace. However, it is often observed that such super fast weight loss programs, especially the diets that belong to them, are almost identical to crash diets, which deprive your body to extreme limits just to ensure that the calorie intake by you can be minimized. Such ‘super fast' methods force people to almost starve, and are extremely unhealthy for the human body because they invariably cause malnutrition. No wonder doctors or dieticians, hardly if ever, recommend any of these super fast weight loss methods.

It is often observed that when a person abandons a crash diet, he/she begins to eat much more than normal. Because of such overeating, the person not only makes up for the weight he/she had lost, but puts on some additional kilos as well. So, it is really of no use to the person in the long run. In fact, it has now been clearly established that some of these super fast weight loss methods can lead to the condition known as anorexia. A person suffering from anorexia loses appetite and becomes averse to food.

Whenever a person loses appetite, he/she begins to eat little and the reduction in the amount of energy consumption eventually makes him/her fast lose weight. If the amount of calories consumed is less than what is essential, the body becomes weaker and it loses its ability to fight adverse conditions. As body weight begins to decline, a person finds it increasingly difficult to battle illness and infection. In case a person suffers a substantial weight loss, he/she may not respond adequately to cancer treatments, and the quality of his/her life deteriorates. Weight loss caused by anorexia may be either temporary or may continue at a life-threatening pace if the patient keeps on eating less than what is needed for sustaining body weight.

Anorexia may be of various types, the most common being satiation following the consumption of food. Known as postprandial anorexia, it is important and healthy because it discourages excessive eating and thus prevents obesity. Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder which is characterized by voluntary starvation and exercise stress. It is a complex disease, which has both psychological and sociological aspects.

Some low carb and high protein diets are also claimed to be helpful for fast achieving weight loss. But in reality, they are harmful because if you don't have carbs in your diet, your body would remain deprived of the much-needed energy and leave you in a weak, lethargic state.

So if you want to lose weight, you must choose one from the many fast weight loss programs that will work for you. The program should be so chosen that it can also supply you the nutrients you need to carry on life in a healthy and energetic manner. However, it is wise to consult your doctor before you choose a diet plan for yourself.

Importantly, diet alone may not be enough to help you achieve weight loss. You must do some physical exercise at the same time, which may be in the form of jogging, brisk walking or even weight training in a gym. Fast weight loss programs that can really work are an effective combination of a suitable diet plan and some physical exercise.
