The pectin is in the cell walls of most fruits, especially apples and it helps to limit the amount of fat your cells can absorb. This puts a natural limit on the amount of fat your cells can absorb. Garlic oil or even the juice of garlic has quite a significant protective quality to cells which helps in reducing the fatty deposits. When taken garlic oil brings down the levels of fat.

Metabolism can be defined as the set of chemical reactions that occur inside living organisms in order to maintain life. These processes allow that organism in various ways, like to grow and reproduce, maintain their structures, respond to their environments etc. Metabolism can be divided into two categories, that is catabolism and anabolism. So basically your metabolism is like the engine of your body, when you take in food then your metabolism or the engine, either uses it for energy, stores it as fat, and or creates the waste product of what couldn't be used.

Now the question comes that why do people get fat when they eat more? The few reasons for this to happen are firstly, when you take in more amount of food than you actually require, your body reacts to it by converting it and storing it in the form of fat. Secondly, a slow rate of metabolism, where you are not really eating that much, but you don't burn up the food efficiently. Third is inactivity because if you don't move around much, your body just can't burn up the food that it takes in during the day. And then finally there are some medical conditions that may also cause obesity.
