Never be under the impression that a single diet plan can solve everyone's problem. In fact, you are never required to give up all your favorite foods for achieving fast weight loss. However, you have to take care that you eat enough healthy foods and keep your daily calorie consumption (1300-1850) within reasonable limits.

However, a general advice for men is to eat low-fat foods. They should avoid foods containing saturated or trans-fats - low in sodium, and less refined. The best thing is to eat at least five daily servings of various types of fruits and vegetables. Eat whole grains such as brown rice and whole wheat bread instead of white rice and white bread. The extra fiber available in whole grain foods helps to maintain healthy blood glucose levels, and reduces the feeling of hunger. Occasional indulgence in low-fat dairy products can be allowed, but chips and other high-fat, high-sodium snack foods are a big no-no.

As many men like to eat red meat, it is better to take away all visible fat before it is eaten and that too in a limited quantity. You should keep it in mind that red meat is nutritious, but it is also a main source of saturated fat which could lead to atherosclerotic heart disease. Change to fish instead, especially mackerel, herring and salmon, or skinless chicken and turkey.

Another key advice for men looking for fast weight loss is to be extremely careful when dining out or using take-out food. In such cases, you should always avoid deep-fried food, look for light appetizers, such as salads, non-creamy soups, fish platter and stay away from items with sauces. Go for plain fish, broiled lean steak, or tomato-based pasta and for dessert, choose a fresh fruit dish without cream. Giving up alcohol is best for your health, but if you find it too difficult, you should limit your consumption to no more than one 4oz glass of wine a day.

Most men are reluctant to go for physical exercise or can't make time for it. But physical exercise is very important to achieve fast weight loss and shield us against various diseases. So, however busy you may be, you must spend some time doing exercise at home or a gym. Men should consult their doctors to find out what type of exercise will be healthy for them.
